What the BET Extended (BET-XT) measures

BET Extended (BET-XT) is a market-capitalisation-weighted index that tracks the performance of the 30 largest and most liquid companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). It is the main barometer for the Romanian equity market and serves as the benchmark for the ROTX (Romanian Traded Index) family. The index is denominated in RON and covers a broad cross-section of the economy, with heavy exposure to financials, energy, and telecommunications.

• The current index level is 2,728.76 points. This number reflects the weighted aggregate value of the constituents and is read like any price level: changes are expressed in points and percentage terms.
• Today's trading range was 2,723.9 – 2,771.11, with the index closing down -1.41% for the session.
• The 30 constituents are dominated by a handful of large-cap names. The top eight holdings account for the bulk of the index weight: BANCA TRANSILVANIA S.A. 15.77%, OMV PETROM S.A. 14.87%, S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. 12.88%, S.P.E.E.H. HIDROELECTRICA S.A. 11.62%, BRD - GROUPE SOCIETE GENERALE S.A. 6.15%, SOCIETATEA ENERGETICA ELECTRICA S.A. 6.14%, S.N.T.G.N. • The index is market-capitalisation-weighted, meaning each company's influence on the index level is proportional to its total market value.
