What to watch
For a regulated utility like PPL, investors typically monitor interest rate movements, regulatory decisions on allowed returns, and the cost of capital projects. The company's dividend policy and payout ratio are also relevant, as is the mix of generation sources including coal, gas, hydro, and solar.
